Key Bloodlines

Foundation bloodlines were sourced with heifers purchased from the Turihaua stud near Gisborne.

The dam Turihaua Merry Maiden bred exceptionally well and produced KC Irma 3 who was unbeaten in the show ring and was Champion Angus at the Royal Show. The dam line of Kincardine Irma 3 is represented one of the herd sires today in Kincardine KC Kingdom 15-531 and continues to breed a cracking line of females and strong, thick young sires.

Several of the superior dams gathered to Queenstown to lead the Studs journey forward from 2006 have the sire Hingaia 469 represented in their pedigree as a grandsire of Kincardine Upjohn 383 used in the Kincardine herd with fantastic results.

Kincardine Angus has always maintained a strict quality control within the herd, with only the elite heifers entering the herd to enhance our breeding programme and introduce well proven sire bloodlines into our females.

The early female bloodlines were mated to foundation sires such as:

TeMania Fortifier - a world record EMA with exceptional conformation who was later on  sold to Karahau Stud;

Stern Kodak - a strong, very sound breeding bull with loads of capacity.

Electron of Wairere, A tremendously thick bull with impeccable conformation.

Cricklewood Caesar - again a world record EMA at his time, promoting great strength, presence, muscle expression, mobility, and docility. Caesar’s presence is also represented in today’s stud, Kincardine Kingdom 531 who shows similar strength, presence, and docility to his grandsire, his sons have sold well in the 2019, 2020 and 2021 seasons with remarkable consistency.
